چکیده

Free-space optics (FSO) communication is often unreliable, especially for long distances, as it suffers from attenuation due to foggy weather, atmospheric turbulence, and pointing errors. To avoid link failure, radio frequency (RF) communication, which unaffected these effects, utilized when FSO in outage. Diversity known counteract the adverse fading therefore, this paper presents a transmit aperture/antenna selection (TAS) combining (SC)-based multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) hybrid FSO/RF system. The proposed system consists of MIMO RF sub-systems. sub-system given higher priority receive using selected best link. used probability density function (PDF) cumulative distribution (CDF) expressions TAS/SC-based sub-systems are derived. derived PDF CDF further derive exact asymptotic outage probability, average symbol error rate (SER), capacity From SER expressions, diversity order determined. optimum values threshold SNR beam waist, minimize SER, obtained. Further, obtained optimal analytical verified numerical optimization technique. effect multiple apertures/antennas, errors, over performance analyzed extensively by varying channel parameters. results show that more reliable compared individual systems achieves

Performance Characterization of a Hybrid Satellite-Terrestrial System with Co-Channel Interference over Generalized Fading Channels

The transmission of signals in a hybrid satellite-terrestrial system (HSTS) in the presence of co-channel interference (CCI) is considered in this study. Specifically, we examine the problem of amplify-and-forward (AF)-based relaying in a hybrid satellite-terrestrial link, where the relay node is operating in the presence of a dominant co-channel interferer. It is assumed that direct connection...

Approximate Random Matrix Models for Generalized Fading MIMO Channels

Approximate random matrix models for κ − μ and η − μ faded multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication channels are derived in terms of a complex Wishart matrix by keeping the degree of freedom constrained to the number of transmitting antennas and by matching matrix variate moments. The utility of the result is demonstrated in a) computing the average capacity/rate of κ−μ/η−μ MIMO syst...

On the capacity of generalized-K fading MIMO channels

This correspondence explores the ergodic capacity of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems operating in generalizedfading conditions. Using some recent results on majorization theory, we derive an analytical capacity bound which is applicable for arbitrary values of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and number of antenna elements. In addition, we deduce simple bound approximations in the ...

Performance Analysis of MIMO Systems with Antenna Selection over Generalized κ - μ Fading Channels

In this paper, we derive closed form expression for outage probability and infinite series expressions for exact and approximate symbol error rate (SER) and capacity of multiple input multiple output systems with transmit antenna selection (TAS) over generalized independent and identically distributed k ¡ m fading channels. The results are applicable to systems employing maximal ratio combining...
